Have you ever stood on the edge of what's right and then chose to do the wrong thing, regardless of the consequence?
Why do we do that to ourselves? It's a hard lesson to learn isn't it? To stand strong in the face of truth, especially when no one else would know one way or the other.
There moments are given to us by the Creator to help us see ourselves more clearly. I had such an occasion to help my daughter with this lesson this morning. She passed with flying colors. But do you know what is even more important than the lesson she learned this morning? The memory of how it happened, and how I handles it with her.
See, someday, when she is an adult, maybe even a mother, she will come across this lesson again. That is how spirit works through us. How I acted this morning as the adult in the situation will help her to gauge how she acts years from now. The ripple reaches far and wide.
Life is like that in all aspects, make no mistaking that. Who we are, how we act, what we say, all compiles into the Universe on a daily basis. The vibration of who we are never dies.
My daughter went to a store this morning, and the clerk took 100 dollars less from her than she needed too. They both missed the mistake. When Jo arrived home and I counted I was confused. I questioned it, and we realized what happened.
We discussed it being a harsh lesson for the woman who didn't count the money properly. We discussed how no one would know it was our transaction that rolled the register short, for we had a receipt that said otherwise. Then I quietly went back to work, and allowed her to think about the consequences for the clerk and the store. By the way, the store she would have to continue going to for as long as we live here.
She was processing I could see it, and finally, she said, lets return it. My allowing her to make the right choice without doing it for her created the memory in her mind she will go to when she needs to help someone else with the same dilemma.
It's not always this easy is it? When the right or wrong decision is only seen by you, without witness, is the true test isn't it? Let's hope that this young girl knows the difference in her heart and soul.
Have a blessed day!
